OTW! is built to disappear. Here’s exactly what that means.
nothing you do is stored for long
Pins (where you are) delete themselves when they expire — a few hours at most. Chats delete after 24 hours. Plans and their comments delete 6 hours after the plan happens. Deleted means deleted: no archives, no history, no “recently deleted” folder.
no location history. ever.
Your location is used once — to suggest the venue you’re at when you drop a pin. We never track you in the background, never keep coordinates after a pin ends, and never write location to logs.
your contacts never leave your phone readable
Find-friends matches phone numbers as one-way hashes. We see which hashes match existing users and nothing else — the address book itself is never uploaded or stored.
what we do keep
Your profile (name, photo, a hash of your phone number), your friend list and circles, and notification preferences — the minimum for the app to work. Delete your account and it all goes with you.
no ads, no selling, no location history
We don’t run ads or sell data to anyone. We do count taps to make the app better — event names and counts only, processed for us by PostHog. Your location, venue names, messages, and notes are never in that data. Sharing to other apps (Messages, Instagram) sends only what you see in the share preview, only when you tap share.
